Philip has gained wide accreditation and recognition for his Professional accomplishments. One such accreditation was his title as one of the "Ohio Super Lawyers" through a joint poll conducted by Law and Politics magazine and Cincinnati Magazine. He was among 61 lawyers listed in the guides "top intellectual property law" and "top intellectual property litigation" categories. The title of “Ohio Super Lawyers” holds additional credentials due to the fact that it was a peer nominated listing. It was the result of more than 35,000 ballots that were distributed to attorneys across the state, soliciting names of professionals in the field deemed "outstanding" by their peers.

Philip was admitted to bar in 1984, following an educational career at Dartmouth College (A.B., Engineering Sciences, 1976; B.E., Mechanical Engineering, 1977); and George Washington University (J.D., 1984). Since his admission to bar, he has found much success in the field of Law. He is currently a member of American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Bar Association, Federal Circuit Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association, Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association, Licensing Executives Society, and Dartmouth Society of Engineers.
