Mr. Sterling’s legal career began in public service. In his early years, he worked for a legal aid clinic where he represented indigent clients accused of various offenses. His commitment to social justice and equality continued when he worked for both San Francisco and Los Angeles Public Defender’s Office. As a trial attorney with the Los Angeles Public Defender’s Office, Mr. Sterling was honored by his peers and supervisors for his dedication and prowess as a trial lawyer. Mr. Sterling transitioned into private practice and founded the Law Offices of Justin E. Sterling in 2011. His firm represents individuals and businesses throughout California that are facing possible criminal charges. His practice represents clients in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels. |

The bedrock of Mr. Sterling’s practice is his talent as a trial lawyer. Mr. Sterling has represented clients charged with murder in addition to representing clients facing life in prison. Mr. Sterling has also assisted in the defense of a capital murder case, where the client was facing a death sentence. In November of 2011, Mr. Sterling obtained an outright dismissal for his client who was facing 25 years to life, under California’s Three Strikes law. Mr. Sterling obtained his client’s release from custody, preventing a potential sentence where his client would have likely died in prison. Day in and day out, Mr. Sterling obtains remarkable results for his clients in courts throughout California. |
