She was the official photographer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the National Federation of Press Women Annual Conference in June 2019.
She worked as a junior high school teacher for 18 years. Ms. Wilson founded and served as CEO at the Sylvan Learning Center #3301 in Bettendorf, Iowa in 1986. She previously founded and owned and operated a Prometric Testing Center in 1995. She sold both companies in 2003 to devote herself to her true love of writing full time. She is currently the CEO of Quad Cities Learning, Inc.. She hosts a podcast called Weekly Wilson, where she interviews filmmakers and reviews movies. |

She lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband of over 50 years, Craig, as well as in Chicago, Illinois, where her son Scott, daughter-in-law Jessica, and their 12 year old twins Elise and Ava reside. Her daughter Stacey lives in Nashville, Tennessee. Her twin grandchildren help and inspire her to write the Christmas Cats in Silly Hats book series. |

She attended the University of Iowa and earned the Ferner Hearst Journalism Scholarship, complete with a full ride to college, and was awarded a Freshman Merit Scholarship to the Top 5% of the entering freshman class. She studied Journalism, then switched to an English major, and completed an NCTE (National Council of Teachers of Education) approved student teaching program at the the (then) University Lab Schools.
After earning her B.S. at the University of Iowa, Ms. Wilson received an M.S. from Western Illinois University. She then took an 30 additional graduate hours from the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Chicago, and Northern Illinois University. She has degrees in English, Journalism, and Education, and has nearly completed a Psychology minor.

In her free time, she loves to play trivia and spend time with her family. She plays oboe, accordion, piano, and played drums in marching band. She was a cheerleader in high school, and was a member of the University of Iowa Old Gold Singers in college. She currently rotates her time between Iowa and the Quad Cities of Illinois, Chicago, and Austin, Texas. |

She has written Ghostly Tales of Route 66, the Hellfire & Damnation Series, Obamas Odyssey: The Race for the White House Vols. I & II, It Came From the Seventies: From The Godfather to Apocalypse Now, The Christmas Cats, Bee-Gone: A Political Parable, and The Color of Evil Series. She has written many articles on a variety of subjects, from politics to film reviews to education. She has contributed sections to the Never Fear Phobia series. Her Obama series Vol. I covered the selection of Obama as a candidate, and Vol. II covers the race between Obama and McCain. Both books contain numerous photos.

Ms. Wilson has been writing for pay since 11 years old, and has a large body of writing on a variety of subjects. She has a blog entitled Weekly Wilson. She is an author of childrens books, in depth political biographies, and the Color of Evil series. She is also a political writer, film reviewer, feature writer, and editorial writer. She was a movie and book critic for the Quad City Times from 1970-1985. She has written for 5 newspapers and 7 blogs, and founded 3 businesses. She has covered every US presidential race since 2004.
She taught junior high school for 18 years. Ms. Wilson acted with a team of former teachers at the junior high level to set 7th and 8th grade standardized testing levels for students in the state of Iowa. She has taught Literature and Composition classes as adjunct faculty at six colleges throughout Illinois and Iowa.

Her awards include Content Producer of the Year for Yahoo (2009), Midwest Writing Center Writer of the Year (2010), Illinois Womens Press Association Silver Feather Award Winner for outstanding achievement in writing (Chicago chapter, 2012 and 2014.) She was named one of the 10 Most Creative Teachers in America in a TAB Scholastic Books competition. The Midwest Writing Center in Davenport Iowa named her Writer of the Year. Her business, Sylvan Learning Center #3301, founded by Ms. Wilson in 1986, was named Best Business of the Year by the Bettendorf Chamber of Commerce and awarded a Bi-State Literacy Award by sitting First Lady Barbara Bush in 1993. She is currently entering screenwriting competitions for her new trilogy, and the script has won nearly 40 competitions. |
