Dr. Simone is a Research Professor and the Chief Medical Officer at the New York Proton Center (NYPC). He is also a Member of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). |

He has leadership positions in numerous national and international societies, including serving as President of the Board of the Proton Collaborative Group (PCG), Chair of the PCG Executive Committee, Chair of the PCG Lung Committee, Chair of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), Lung Resource Panel Committee, Co-Chair of the ASTRO Small Cell Lung Cancer Guidelines Committee, Chair of the NRG Oncology Particle Therapy Work Group, Co-Chair of the American Radium Society (ARS), Appropriate Use Criteria Thoracic Committee, Co-Chair of the Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group (PTCOG) the Gastrointestinal Subcommittee, Chair of the PTCOG Skull Base/Central Nervous System Sarcoma Subcommittee, the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) Recruitment Subcommittee, Co-Chair of the ACRO Annual Meeting Abstracts Committee, and Chair of the National Cancer Institute/Radiosurgery Society (RSS) GRID-Lattice-Microbeam-Flash Radiotherapy Clinical Working Group. |

Dr. Simone has been in practice for 15 years, the last 2 and a half with Memorial Sloan Kettering. |

In his spare time, Dr. Simone enjoys playing sports and spending time with his wife and young daughter. |

He earned his undergraduate degree and medical school degree at the University of Pennsylvania. An internship in internal medicine and residency in radiation oncology were completed at the National Cancer Institute NIH where he served as chief resident. |

He has almost 400 publications in the Cancer field. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Palliative Medicine, and he is on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Clinical Oncology Cancers, Journal of Thoracic Disease Frontiers in Oncology Translational Lung Cancer Research, Annals of Translational Medicine, and Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. |

Dr. Simone is a research professor and the Chief Medical Officer of the New York Proton Center, as well as, a full member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He is internationally known for his expertise in the use of proton therapy. |

He is a three-time winner of the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO) Educator of the Year Award. |
